Associate Project Manager
About the role
The Associate Project Manager at Schemax (Pvt) Ltd will coordinate and drive end-to-end project activities across multiple technology initiatives, working closely with customers, stakeholders, development, and QA teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery. The role involves assisting in planning, executing, monitoring, and closing IT projects, preparing project documentation, tracking milestones, facilitating meetings, supporting requirements gathering, and ensuring adherence to project governance and change management processes. The position is onsite in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and requires strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, as well as experience with project management tools and the software development life cycle. Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management, business analysis, or software delivery roles.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Nice to have
- Knowledge or experience in Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or Payments domain will be a distinct advantage.
- Exposure to digital transformation, enterprise software implementation, systems integration, or portal development projects.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, CAPM, or Agile certifications will be advantageous.
