Junior Executive - Database Administrator
About the role
The Junior Executive - Database Administrator at Softlogic Finance PLC is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring database servers and related systems at the head office. Key duties include managing Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring database security, handling backup and disaster recovery procedures, monitoring performance, and supporting business continuity and compliance. The role requires a relevant degree or diploma, at least 2 years of experience in database administration (preferably with Microsoft SQL Server), and strong technical knowledge in SQL Server, T-SQL, and database security. Candidates should have practical experience in backup, recovery, and performance monitoring, with knowledge of Windows Server environments and professional certifications considered advantageous.
Must have
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in database administration, preferably in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
- Practical experience in database backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery.
- Good understanding of database security, access management, and change management procedures.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments and high-availability database solutions will be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications in database administration will be an advantage.
