Business Operations Associate
About the role
Esshva Techq is seeking a Business Operations Associate to join their Colombo, Sri Lanka office. This full-time, on-site role involves working closely with the leadership team to manage day-to-day business operations, including client coordination, internal reporting, research, proposals, and supporting special projects. The position does not require a technical background but demands curiosity, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to new tools and processes. The role offers exposure to international clients and mentorship from senior leaders, with a clear path for career growth within the company.
Must have
- Curious: you ask why, dig into how things work and learn new tools without being told to
- Detail-oriented: you catch the wrong date, the missing attachment and the number that doesn't add up
- Strong communicator: clear, professional written and spoken English, comfortable with international clients
- Owner, not a passenger: you follow through without reminders and close the loop
- Organised: you juggle several priorities and keep track of who owes what
- Quick to adapt to tech: no technical background needed, but you're keen to learn how software is built and delivered
- Calm and discreet: you handle confidential information and pressure well
- 0–2 years of experience; a degree in any field (business, management, arts, science or similar)
Nice to have
- Internship or work experience in client service, consulting, operations or a startup
- Confident with Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint and AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT
- Experience organising events, societies or projects at university
- Tamil or Sinhala in addition to English
