Senior QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)
About the role
The Senior QA Automation Engineer at Gallagher is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive test strategies for web and mobile products. The role involves executing both manual and automated test cases across various testing types, ensuring end-to-end test coverage for critical user journeys, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and communicate quality risks. The position is part of the Information Technology - Applications team in Sri Lanka, reporting to the QA Lead, and focuses on IT systems integration and delivery across Gallagher and its acquisition entities in the UK and EMEA. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in digital product testing, be comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments, and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software testing, including test planning, execution, and defect management.
- Expertise in test analysis methods.
- Expertise in functional test automation.
- Expertise in manual test specification and execution.
- Expertise in defect management.
- Expertise in CI platforms such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
- Experience in Agile environments with SCRUM or Kanban.
- Knowledge of quality processes, industry standards, and formal delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage workload effectively.
Nice to have
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level certification is a plus.
- Exploratory, integration, compatibility, performance, visual, usability, accessibility, API, security, and ETL/data testing.
