Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
Mitra Innovation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team. The role involves reviewing requirement specifications and technical design documents, creating detailed test plans and cases, and performing various types of software testing including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. The engineer will also design and execute API tests, identify and track bugs, liaise with internal and external teams, and monitor quality assurance metrics. The position requires interaction with AWS services, hands-on database testing, and experience in test automation and API testing. The company values strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience in designing test plans for complex systems. Prior experience in insurance or financial systems is strongly preferred. Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science/IT.
- 2+ years experience in software quality assurance.
- Thorough knowledge and skills in software quality assurance process.
- Interact with AWS services to support logging analysis, workflow validation, configuration management, and data verification across testing activities.
- Hands-on experience in database testing with strong working knowledge of MySQL, including writing and validating SQL queries, data integrity checks, and test data management.
- Having strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in test automation is a plus.
- Proven experience in API testing with a strong understanding of RESTful principles, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON payloads.
- Demonstrated experience in designing test plans for complex, distributed, or event- driven systems.
- Prior testing experience in insurance or financial systems is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with different project stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Exposure to international client engagements is an added advantage.
- Must have good English verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted QA tools (e.g. test case generation, anomaly detection, intelligent test automation) is an added advantage.
- Programming proficiency is required; TypeScript and Python are the preferred languages.
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using appropriate tools.
