Agentic AI Architect
About the role
Virtusa is seeking an Agentic AI Architect (Lead/Principal level) to set the technical direction for autonomous, multi-agent AI systems for enterprise clients in sectors such as banking, insurance, and healthcare. The role involves defining end-to-end reference architectures, building reusable accelerators and frameworks, guiding engineering and delivery teams from proof-of-concept to production, and embedding security and responsible-AI safeguards. The architect will also partner with presales and client teams and mentor engineers to enhance agentic AI capabilities across the organization. The position is based in Hyderabad, India or Colombo, Sri Lanka, and operates in a hybrid work environment.
Must have
- Proven ability to design and ship production agentic AI systems: multi-agent workflows, tool use, memory, and LLM orchestration (for example with LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex).
- Strong command of Python and Java, plus the data foundations agents rely on: pipelines, vector databases, and knowledge graphs.
- Hands-on architecture experience on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- A track record of building reusable frameworks or accelerators that others adopt across teams.
- Clear communication that turns technical trade-offs into decisions business and technical audiences can act on.
