Software Engineer Intern
About the role
P W Holdings is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join their team in Colombo, working in a hybrid arrangement with both on-site and work-from-home flexibility. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining back-end web services for the company's online platform. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers to implement features, fix bugs, improve performance, write clean code, participate in code reviews, and document technical work. The role offers exposure to professional development tools, workflows, and technical discussions, with a focus on applying object-oriented programming concepts in practice.
Must have
- Degree or undergraduate in Information Technology, Management & IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript).
- Understanding of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side technologies.
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their practical application.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow technical guidance, and work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
- Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and comfort working with development tools and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication in English.
