Senior Machine Learning Engineer
About the role
The Senior Lead Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and operationalization of enterprise-grade machine learning and Generative AI solutions for a key client of Talent Studio in Sri Lanka. The role involves building scalable ML infrastructure, establishing MLOps best practices, and ensuring AI solutions are reliable, secure, and production-ready. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor ML engineering teams, and drive technology adoption and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing ML models, developing ML pipelines and deployment architectures, implementing CI/CD practices, and maintaining system reliability through monitoring and troubleshooting.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of relevant industry experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Data Engineering, MLOps, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale machine learning solutions.
- Strong programming experience in Python and exposure to Java/Spring Boot, JavaScript/Node.js, or related frameworks.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
- Sound understanding of Data Science, Analytics, Data Engineering, and ML system design.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, model serving, monitoring, and automation.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Professional DevOps certifications would be an added advantage.
- Cloud Solution Architect certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of telecom business operations would be advantageous.
