About the role
The Senior Software Engineer (.NET) role focuses on identifying, reproducing, and fixing bugs in both customer-facing web applications and internal tools. The position is hands-on, requiring the candidate to work through the entire bug-fixing process, from initial report to deploying a tested fix in production. The engineer will work with a mix of older and newer codebases, including large backend files, server-rendered pages, React components, legacy jQuery, and complex SQL databases. Responsibilities include clarifying unclear bug reports, maintaining clear Jira tickets, and making small, safe code changes while working independently.
Must have
- 4+ years debugging and writing code in software development, application support, or Tier 3 technical support.
- Able to read and debug C# in ASP.NET MVC or ASP.NET Core apps.
- Comfortable debugging React and JavaScript/TypeScript, older jQuery code, and Razor (.cshtml) templates.
- Solid SQL skills (SQL Server preferred, PostgreSQL is fine), including writing queries to investigate issues and understanding ORM data models
- Comfortable with branching, pull requests, reviewing changes, and using git history/blame to investigate.
- Organized and accountable; you manage your time well and see tickets through to completion.
- Able to explain technical findings clearly in writing, especially in Jira tickets and pull requests.
