Senior AI Engineer
About the role
CDAZZDEV is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their remote-first team in Sri Lanka, working on a clinical AI platform for US-based clients. The role involves end-to-end ownership of the AI layer, including real-time voice AI, agent workflows, advanced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and production reliability. Responsibilities include building and tuning speech-to-speech models, designing agent workflows, evaluating RAG pipelines, investigating production incidents, running performance tests, and mentoring engineers. The company values ownership, clear communication, and a focus on patient safety, with work aligned to US time zones.
Must have
- 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 2 years shipping LLM or AI systems in production
- Proven hands-on work in real-time voice AI, agentic systems or advanced RAG
- Strong debugging skills on live AI systems using logs, traces and evaluation data
- Clear written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Healthcare or clinical AI experience
- Fine-tuning or distilling open-weight models (LoRA)
- Self-hosted inference with vLLM or Ollama
- Multimodal pipelines such as medical document OCR and lab report parsing
- Research awareness of world-model architectures such as JEPA
