About the role
The Lead Gen AI Engineer will be responsible for leading AI/ML engineering projects, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of generative AI models and solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify AI integration opportunities, mentoring junior engineers, conducting research on emerging AI technologies, and ensuring the quality and performance of AI models. The position is a direct hire with a multinational company and is based in Colombo with a hybrid work arrangement.
Must have
- Strong expertise in Generative AI and agentic AI frameworks.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.
- Knowledge of ethical AI practices and bias mitigation strategies.
