Technical Officer
About the role
The Technical Officer at Zentrinex IT is a full-time, on-site position in Sri Lanka, responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and systems. The role includes monitoring network and server performance, performing routine checks, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and collaborating with senior engineers to deploy and configure equipment. Additional responsibilities involve applying security best practices, documenting technical procedures, responding to service requests, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with IT policies and standards. The Technical Officer also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and provides user guidance on technical issues.
Must have
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, operating systems, and basic cloud concepts.
- Experience with hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
- Knowledge of information security principles, backup strategies, and disaster recovery practices.
- Proficiency in documenting technical procedures, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate configuration records.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant technical certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent) and/or diploma/degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Willingness to work on-site in Sri Lanka and support occasional after-hours or weekend activities when required.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a technical support, systems, or network role in an enterprise or managed services environment is an advantage.
