Senior Engineer - Managed Services (1-Year Contract)
About the role
The Senior Engineer - Managed Services (1-Year Contract) will be responsible for supporting billing system operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring service delivery within an enterprise telecom environment. Key duties include handling issue tickets and service requests, managing daily operational tasks for billing modules, monitoring systems, performing post-deployment checks, and collaborating with team members to improve processes. The role requires hands-on experience with billing systems, Linux/Unix environments, and relevant telecom protocols and interfaces. The position is based on-site in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and is offered as a 12-month contract.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Hands-on experience with billing system configurations and writing CRLs.
- Experience managing Linux/Unix environments.
- Knowledge of C++ and Python for code-level changes in Huawei CBS platforms.
- Experience supporting daily billing system operational issues.
- Strong understanding of CAP, DCC, SS7, SMPP, VoIP, and Sy, Gx, and Gy interfaces.
- Understanding of billing system call flows, data flows, and debugging logs.
- Knowledge of billing modules such as Debt Collector, Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL).
- Experience integrating billing system modules with third-party systems.
- Ability to analyze technical impacts and recommend suitable implementation approaches.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize issues, and meet agreed SLAs.
