Product Designer Intern - UI/UX
About the role
VisionRoot (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a UI/UX Designer Intern to join their team. This internship is ideal for students or early-career designers interested in gaining hands-on experience designing modern, user-friendly web and mobile applications. The intern will participate in the full design process, including user research, wireframing, visual design, prototyping, usability improvements, and developer handoff. The role involves collaborating with software engineers, AI engineers, business analysts, and project managers, and contributing to both internal and client projects. Candidates should be pursuing a relevant degree and have a basic understanding of UI/UX principles, Figma, and visual design fundamentals. The position offers a flexible, fully remote work environment, mentorship, and opportunities to build a professional portfolio.
Must have
- Currently pursuing a degree or higher education in UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles.
- Familiarity with Figma.
- Basic understanding of wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and design systems.
- Understanding of basic user-centered design principles.
- Good understanding of visual design principles such as typography, color, spacing, alignment, contrast, and hierarchy.
- Basic understanding of responsive web and mobile design.
- Creative thinking and strong attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to receive feedback and improve designs.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop professional design skills.
- Genuine interest in creating useful, accessible, and engaging digital experiences.
Nice to have
- Experience creating designs using Figma.
- Familiarity with Figma components, variants, auto layout, variables, and prototyping.
- Understanding of design systems and reusable UI components.
- Familiarity with usability testing and user research methods.
- Experience creating user personas, journey maps, or user stories.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first design approaches.
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Basic understanding of how frontend technologies such as React, React Native, Flutter, or similar frameworks work.
- Familiarity with developer handoff and design-to-development workflows.
- Experience designing dashboards, SaaS applications, mobile apps, websites, or AI-powered applications.
- Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Framer, or similar design tools.
- Experience working with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Trello, Notion, or ClickUp.
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum practices.
- A portfolio containing personal, university, freelance, or open-source design projects is an advantage.
- Previous experience working on real-world UI/UX projects is an advantage.
