Head of Projects
About the role
The Head of Projects will lead the development and execution of a major Greenfield Dairy Plant Development Program in Sri Lanka, overseeing all phases from planning and construction to commissioning and expansion. This strategic leadership role is responsible for ensuring project objectives are met in terms of safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and operational readiness. The position involves managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with consultants, contractors, and vendors, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience in large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects and strong leadership and commercial management skills.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12–15 years of project management experience.
- Proven track record managing large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects.
- Experience leading projects valued at USD 15 Million or more.
- Strong experience managing multidisciplinary engineering, construction, and project execution teams.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and delivery management.
- Experience delivering projects from concept through commissioning and operational handover.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent risk management, problem-solving, and commercial management skills.
Nice to have
- Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, PMI, or equivalent will be highly preferred.
- A master's degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Operations Management, or an MBA will be an added advantage.

Highlights
The role is based in Sri Lanka and is a full-time position on a 2-year renewable contract. The project is in the dairy manufacturing/food processing industry and involves leading a high-value (USD 15 million+) Greenfield plant development.
