Software Engineer (Flutter + Node.js)
About the role
This role is for a Software Engineer responsible for developing the software layer that interfaces with custom electronics, including wearable sensors, GPS trackers, drones, and industrial controllers. The position involves building companion mobile apps for client hardware, working on the DanceBetter AI dance coaching product, developing web dashboards, and creating landing pages for products in development. The stack includes Flutter for mobile, Node.js and related technologies for backend and web, and REST APIs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with challenging, non-standard app development involving Bluetooth connectivity, real-time sensor data, and direct client communication.
Must have
- 2+ years building production mobile applications
- Strong Flutter
- Backend development in Node.js
- Comfortable publishing and maintaining releases on both app stores
- Able to read an API spec, ask good questions, and work without close supervision
- Good written English, since you will deal directly with international clients
Nice to have
- BLE experience. Connecting to custom hardware, GATT services, handling real connection instability. This is the rarest skill on this list and it moves you straight to the top.
- Working with real-time or streaming sensor data
- Any exposure to computer vision
- Hardware or IoT projects of any kind, including personal ones
