About the role
The Analytics Translator will play a key role in supporting an Analytics and AI transformation by bridging the gap between business and data engineering teams. The role involves clarifying and documenting business requirements, building data dictionaries, documenting data issues, validating data logic, and ensuring that analytics and AI products meet documented requirements. The position also supports data governance by maintaining up-to-date documentation in central data catalogues. Candidates should have strong logical thinking, business acumen, and the ability to work with and document data clearly. The role is contract-based and offers the opportunity to contribute to a modern, scalable data platform within a digital-first financial institution.
Must have
- A degree or professional qualification in a quantitative, business or finance discipline.
- 3–4 years in business analysis, management information (MI) reporting or data analysis. Candidates with less experience may be considered for junior positions. Financial services experience and domain fluency are an advantage.
- A proven record of independent analysis, logical thinking and business problem solving.
- The ability to work through data independently to establish definitions, transformations and lineage. SQL skills are an advantage.
- The ability to write clear, contextual, unambiguous documentation, and to maintain catalogue metadata.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to reconcile competing definitions between stakeholders.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is an advantage.
