Software Engineer
About the role
H2O.ai is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI-driven applications for enterprise customers. The role involves working with technologies such as Kubernetes, Go, Python, Protobuf, gRPC, REST API, and microservices architecture. Responsibilities include building and shipping software, optimizing large datasets, working with streaming data, deploying applications using Helm, and maintaining high code quality. The position offers mentorship from senior engineers and opportunities for growth within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of software development experience (or solid projects if you’re a fast learner!).
- Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, Kubernetes, Protobuf, gRPC, REST API, and micro-services architecture.
- Passion for data-heavy applications and handling large datasets.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- A growth mindset – we don’t expect you to know everything, but we expect you to be excited to learn.
Nice to have
- Bonus points if you’ve worked with Kafka or Helm (but if not, we’ll help you learn!).
- Knowledge of JVM-based languages is advantageous but optional.
