About the role
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance software applications. The role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, taking ownership of complex projects, writing clean and maintainable code, and reviewing code for adherence to standards. The engineer will also mentor junior and mid-level developers, collaborate with various teams, contribute to system architecture, and stay updated on emerging technologies. The position is based in Rajagiriya and requires strong technical and leadership skills.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in software development, preferably in a senior development role.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and development frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, databases, APIs, and web technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mentor team members and provide technical guidance.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments will be an advantage.
