Network Engineer
About the role
The Network & Security Engineer role is responsible for providing network security support, troubleshooting technical issues, managing network infrastructure, monitoring system performance, and ensuring service availability according to agreed SLAs. Key responsibilities include customer support, incident management, monitoring network alerts, implementing technical fixes, managing security platforms and patches, and collaborating with customers, vendors, and internal teams. The position requires a qualification in Network Engineering or a relevant field, at least 5 years of customer-facing and hands-on network support experience, and familiarity with a range of networking and security technologies. The role is with a client of InTalent Asia, a recruitment partner, and is based in Sri Lanka within the managed IT services, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity industry.
Must have
- Qualification in Network Engineering or a relevant field.
- 5+ years of customer-facing experience in understanding business and technical requirements.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network support, troubleshooting, routing, switching, wireless, and network security.
- Experience with Cisco or Juniper networking technologies and Cisco security products (ASA and ISE).
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 or NetScaler load balancing, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, Nagios, Wireshark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
