Senior Manager – Product Management
About the role
The Senior Manager – Product Management will be responsible for owning, prioritizing, and grooming the product backlog for their team, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business priorities. The role involves acting as the main point of contact for the Scrum team, participating in Agile ceremonies, translating product vision into actionable plans, and validating deliverables. The manager will also gather input from stakeholders, define success metrics, collaborate with UX/UI designers, communicate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with quality and security standards. The position is with a leading financial services company located in Rajagiriya.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- 4 - 8 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.
- Demonstrated experience owning and managing a product backlog for at least one product, feature area, or platform.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and experience working directly within a Scrum team.
- Strong skills in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and grooming a backlog for clarity and delivery-readiness.
- Good analytical skills, with comfort using data and customer feedback to make prioritization calls.
- Clear, confident communicator able to work directly with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders day-to-day.
- Comfortable balancing shifting priorities and making pragmatic trade-off decisions under time constraints.
Nice to have
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification is a strong plus.
