About the role

The IT Intern position at Arpico Insurance PLC involves assisting with IT support tasks, system monitoring, and documentation. The role requires a basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and networking concepts, as well as the ability to work well in a team, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies. Interns will also perform other IT-related tasks as assigned by the IT Manager. The company is located in Colombo and offers a professional environment for candidates with an educational background in IT or a related discipline.

Must have

Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and networking concepts.
Familiarity with software applications, databases, or web technologies is an advantage.
Ability to assist with IT support tasks, system monitoring, and documentation.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Good attitude, punctuality, and professional conduct.
Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned by the IT Manager.
Educational background in IT or a related discipline.
Basic knowledge of one or more of the following is an advantage: Networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP), Databases (MySQL, SQL basics), Operating systems and system administration.
Exposure to cybersecurity concepts, cloud platforms, or enterprise systems will be an added advantage.
Any relevant certifications, coursework, or academic projects related to IT will be beneficial.
