Data Governance Lead
About the role
The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for establishing and embedding a practical data governance operating model to ensure trusted master data within the organization. The role involves defining governance structures, roles, and decision rights, as well as developing stewardship workflows, exception management processes, and data quality KPIs. The position requires close coordination with various teams to maintain data ownership frameworks, facilitate governance forums, and support ongoing business adoption. This is a part-time, 2-year contract role with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 4 hours of work per day, Monday to Friday. The salary is LKR 200,000 gross per month.
Must have
- 5+ years’ experience in Data Governance or MDM Governance.
- Strong knowledge of Data Owner and Data Steward operating models.
- Experience designing exception-based stewardship workflows and documenting survivorship rules.
- Strong exposure to attribute authority, data quality governance and KPI frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder facilitation and executive/business communication skills.
- Ability to translate governance principles into practical operational processes.
