Senior Software Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) - 4 month Contract
About the role
This is a 4-month contract position for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and Spring Boot. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. Key responsibilities include developing robust applications, implementing RESTful APIs and microservices, optimizing SQL queries, conducting code reviews, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. Candidates must have at least 4 years of professional software development experience, strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, SQL, and experience with Agile/Scrum environments. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience, with strong experience in Java.
- Strong proficiency in Java 8+ and object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.
- Strong understanding and practical experience in Microservices Architecture.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server.
- Good understanding of database design, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design, SOLID principles, Design Patterns, and clean coding practices.
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Good understanding of unit and integration testing.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Knowledge of Redis or other caching technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Exposure to distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and system integration.
