Junior ERP Developer
About the role
The Junior ERP Developer at Ahmad Tea Limited will be based in Colombo and will support the development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of the company's ERP system, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The role involves analyzing business requirements, developing ERP solutions and reports, providing technical and functional support, testing system enhancements, and ensuring effective operation of ERP applications to support business processes and operational requirements. The position aligns with the strategic objectives of the Ahmad Tea IT Department and focuses on requirements fulfillment to ensure all IT demands are met.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficient in C/AL and AL programming, with a strong foundation in software development and programming concepts.
- Solid understanding of ERP systems, business processes, database management, and reporting structures.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of translating complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central.
- Solid experience with Power BI, Power Automate, ODBC files, and Live Query.
- Practical knowledge of SQL Server, database concepts, and coding languages including SQL, DAX, M-Language, and R-Language.
- Good understanding of FMCG business processes.
- Foundational understanding of core business operations, including finance, inventory, sales, purchasing, and warehousing.
- 1–2 years in ERP support, development, or general software engineering.
- Good programming background with a solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Effective collaboration skills to collect user requirements and deliver reliable support.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central implementation and support.
- Strong knowledge of AL development, Power Query, or SQL scripting.
- Basic development experience using Power BI, RDLC, or SSRS.
- Solid understanding of source control and modern development methodologies.
- Eager to learn new technologies, eager to improve business processes, and open to continuous personal development.
- Dedicated to delivering high-quality user assistance and service with a helpful, positive attitude.
- Detail-oriented, committed to high standards, and capable of meeting tight deadlines under pressure.

Nice to have
- Prior exposure to ERP project life cycles within the FMCG industry is highly preferred.

Highlights
