Head of Technology & Data Business - Sri Lanka
About the role
The Head of Technology & Data Business will lead a distributed team across multiple countries, including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, and the Philippines, for IIX Fintech. The role involves overseeing product leadership, data product development, engineering, sales and monetization, and UX/UI design. Key responsibilities include owning commercial strategy and P&L, building and executing growth strategies, leading product launches, managing data strategy and monetization, embedding product thinking across the organization, and leading and scaling the team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in fintech, digital platforms, or technology businesses, with a proven track record in product execution, commercial ownership, and leading distributed teams.
Must have
- Typically 15+ years across fintech, digital platforms, financial services, or technology businesses; we prioritize demonstrated commercial ownership, product execution, and technical fluency over tenure
- Proven track record of taking technology products to market and generating revenue, with P&L or revenue ownership; founder, co-founder, or Chief Product Officer experience is a strong advantage
- A blend of structured corporate experience and startup or venture-building experience
- Hands-on understanding of the product and software development life cycle: discovery, roadmap, prototyping, release, and iteration
- B2B or enterprise sales to institutional buyers such as financial institutions, investors, DFIs, or governments
- Emerging markets experience in Southeast Asia, South Asia, or Africa, including navigating regulatory environments
- Experience leading distributed, multi-country teams
- Product management and go-to-market strategy, including pricing and packaging
- Data strategy and data product design; working familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, BI tools) and AI/ML applications
- Strong grasp of UX/UI principles and user-centered design
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field
