Lead AI Engineer
About the role
The Lead AI Engineer at Xitricon AI Platform Engineering will play a pivotal role in architecting and leading the delivery of enterprise AI solutions, from problem framing to production deployment. The position involves designing and optimizing LLM orchestration workflows, integrating AI with enterprise systems, supporting deployments across cloud or on-prem environments, and implementing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. The role also includes working closely with platform architects to ensure scalability and security, collaborating with governance teams, mentoring junior engineers, and translating complex AI/ML concepts for clients and stakeholders. Candidates should have significant hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, proficiency in Python and agentic AI frameworks, and a strong portfolio of delivered solutions. Must have
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering with a strong portfolio of delivered solutions
- Deep proficiency in Python and core Agentic AI frameworks
- Demonstrated experience designing and deploying production-grade AI systems at scale
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, and prompt engineering
- Proven ability to work independently on complex, open-ended problems with minimal supervision
- Experience working with APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns
- Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and containerised deployments
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, or compliance considerations in AI systems in specific geographic regions
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong engineering fundamentals with applied AI experience
- Curiosity to learn and adapt to a fast-evolving AI landscape
- Clear communication and ability to work with cross-functional team

- Experience with conversational AI platforms
- Experience working in regulated industries
- Exposure to multilingual NLP, inclusive AI design, or AI for emerging markets
- Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing technical role
