About the role
MiWayz Lanka (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a Senior Golang Developer to design and build scalable, reliable back-end services for their ride-hailing platform. The role involves hands-on development with Go, architecting event-driven systems with Kafka, and leveraging AI-assisted coding tools to enhance productivity and code quality. The position offers significant ownership over architecture and delivery, and includes responsibilities such as mentoring junior developers, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions.
Must have
- A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience developing production systems in Golang.
- Strong grasp of clean code concepts, SOLID principles, and software design best practices.
- Practical experience using AI tools for coding (e.g. AI coding assistants) as part of the development workflow.
- Proven experience with Kafka integrations and building event-driven architectures.
- Solid understanding of concurrency, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong testing discipline (unit, integration) and familiarity with CI/CD workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with observability tooling and performance tuning at scale.
