AI Engineer (Azure AI Foundry and agentic solutions)
About the role
3Rive Technologies is seeking an AI Engineer to work on Azure AI Foundry and agentic solutions for a top-50 UK law firm. The role involves taking AI agent builds into production, working directly with clients, lawyers, IT, and security teams to shape requirements, design, build, evaluate, secure, deploy, and support AI solutions. Responsibilities include client engagement, solution design, building and integrating agents, ensuring security and compliance, deployment, maintenance, and certifying reusable patterns. The position is hands-on and client-facing, requiring work within client environments under strict change control and security policies. The company offers a central role in a high-profile client program, hybrid working from Colombo, equipment provision, and support for Microsoft certifications. Applications are accepted via email with a CV and a description of a relevant LLM or agent system project.
Must have
- 4 or more years in software engineering, including two or more building LLM-based applications.
- Hands-on delivery on Azure AI Foundry: agents, model deployments, Azure AI Search and evaluation.
- Production experience with agentic patterns: tool use, planning, memory, multi-agent orchestration and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Strong Python and C#/.NET, with solid engineering habits: testing, code review, Git and CI/CD.
- Working knowledge of Azure services: Functions, Container Apps, API Management, Key Vault, Entra ID and Application Insights.
- A solid grasp of the Entra ID permission model: delegated versus application permissions, consent, and why acting under a user’s own permissions matters in a regulated environment.
- An evaluation habit. You apply guardrails and test sets to AI systems rather than trusting that they looked fine.
- Clear written English and the confidence to explain design and risk decisions to senior, non-technical people and to security reviewers.
- Availability for a core window of 09:00–17:00 UK time (13:30–21:30 Sri Lanka) at least four days a week.
Nice to have
- Law-firm or professional-services experience: iManage, matter-centric data, confidentiality expectations.
- Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder and publishing to Teams or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Building or consuming MCP servers.
- Dataverse, Power Automate and the wider Power Platform.
- Azure AI Document Intelligence, Azure AI Content Safety or Microsoft Fabric.
- Semantic Kernel or AutoGen.
- AI-102, AZ-204 or PL-400 certification.
