AI/ML Engineering Intern
About the role
This is a 1-year AI/ML Engineering Internship based in Colombo with a hybrid work arrangement. The intern will develop and test AI/ML solutions using Python, support use cases involving GenAI, LLM, RAG, and Agentic AI, and work on data processing, model evaluation, APIs, and AI prototypes or proof-of-concepts. Responsibilities also include coding, testing, debugging, technical documentation, and researching emerging AI technologies. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate or recent graduate in a relevant field with good Python skills, a solid understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, and exposure to common AI/ML tools and libraries.
Must have
- Undergraduate or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field
- Good Python skills and strong problem-solving ability
- A solid grasp of AI/ML fundamentals
- Exposure to Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
- Familiarity with Git, REST APIs, and JSON
Nice to have
- Hands-on AI/ML academic or personal projects (preferred)
- experience with LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, LangChain/LangGraph, or cloud AI services
