L2 Network Engineer
About the role
The L2 Network Engineer role involves taking ownership of network support and infrastructure across client environments, with a focus on connectivity, firewalls, network performance, and proactive issue resolution in a managed services provider (MSP) setting. The position requires close collaboration with Systems Engineers and support for both field staff and internal teams, handling network-related incidents, escalations, and critical outages. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting network issues, supporting Azure networking environments, monitoring network performance, and maintaining reliable connectivity for clients. Must have
- Strong experience working within an MSP environment
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure networking components
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
- Hands-on experience with RMM/PSA platforms such as Kaseya, N-able, or similar
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, routing, and switching
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting VPNs
- Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, and core networking principles
- Experience with Azure VNets, NSGs, and connectivity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm and methodical during outages and critical incidents
- Confidence explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical users
- Proactive approach focused on preventing recurring issues
- Strong ability to collaborate with other technical teams during incidents
- High level of accountability and ownership
