Senior Software Engineer (Mobile Development)
About the role
Pronto Software is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in mobile development to join their team in Colombo. The role involves building new features for React Native mobile apps in production and converting a large Swift application to React Native. The successful candidate will work on commercial apps that impact real users, collaborating with teams in Australia and Sri Lanka. Responsibilities include developing scalable features, maintaining quality standards, leading code reviews, and ensuring a reliable build and release pipeline.
Must have
- You have 4–5+ years of building and shipping commercial React Native apps to the App Store and Google Play
- You’ve taken features from spec to production in apps people depend on for their work
- You’ve ported or rebuilt native iOS code before. Swift experience is a strong plus, and you know where the migration traps are.
- You have developped mobile apps which works both online and offline
- You’re comfortable with GitLab CI/CD, and ideally Fastlane, to take a build from merge to store release
- You review code thoroughly and help the people around you grow
- You have a knack for UI/UX best practices, and you can spot a clunky flow before the users do.
- You’ve used AI-assisted development tools in your work and know where they sped you up and where they didn’t.
