Data Engineer
About the role
The Data Engineer role at EY Sri Lanka involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes. The position requires collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions, implementing data quality checks, optimizing pipelines, developing data models, and ensuring data security. The role also includes troubleshooting data issues and staying updated with trends in data engineering and big data technologies. The position is part of the EY Sri Lanka AI & Data team, offering opportunities for growth, global exposure, and purpose-led work.
Must have
- Experience in ETL, Data Engineering and Scripting.
- Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or Agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
- Experience in a delivery role on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data or analytics projects
- Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills and stakeholder management experience
- Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing/platform, and data strategy projects
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with experience in development and maintenance support
- Data Migration experience in AWS, Azure, Hadoop, GCP environments
- Sound programming, debugging/troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with familiarity in Scala/Java/Python on Spark/Pyspark, Spark SQL
- Experience in using Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric
- Bachelor's or master's degree in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, IT, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
- Relevant Microsoft and Snowflake Certifications
