Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)
About the role
The Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and related Azure technologies. The position requires hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks, with exposure to Fabric. Key responsibilities include working with OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Direct Lake, as well as implementing advanced SQL, Python, and PySpark solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Delta Lake, medallion architecture, dimensional data modeling, Power BI semantic models, DAX, and data security. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Azure security, governance, and Microsoft Purview is also required. The role is suited for professionals with at least 4 years of data engineering experience and a relevant bachelor's degree.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of data engineering experience, including hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience or relevant Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks experience with Fabric exposure.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Direct Lake.
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python and PySpark.
- Experience with Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and dimensional data modeling.
- Knowledge of Power BI semantic models, DAX, and data security.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and data deployment workflows.
- Understanding of Azure security, governance, and Microsoft Purview.
- Experience in Fabric capacity management and cost optimization.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Microsoft Fabric certifications (DP-700 or DP-600) would be an advantage.
