About the role

The Senior Software Engineer – OpenText ECM (OTCS / OTMM) is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise content management solutions using OpenText Content Server and OpenText Media Management. The role involves building integrations and services, configuring and customizing OTCS and OTMM, supporting platform operations, and developing document and image processing pipelines. The engineer will work collaboratively in a cross-functional Agile team, following CI/CD practices and ensuring high code quality. The position requires hands-on experience with OpenText platforms, practical programming skills, and a solid understanding of ECM concepts and software engineering fundamentals.

Must have

A bachelor's degree in computer science or 3 years of relevant developer experience
3–5 years of experience in software development in an agile environment, depending on education
Hands-on experience with OpenText Content Server (OTCS), including configuration, customization, and integration (e.g., REST API, WebReports, OScript, workflows, Smart View)
Hands-on experience with OpenText Media Management (OTMM), including asset ingestion, metadata schemas, renditions/transcoding, and REST API or SDK-based integration
A solid understanding of ECM concepts: document lifecycle, versioning, metadata modeling, access control, retention, and records management
Experience administering or supporting OpenText environments (installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting)
Practical programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to build APIs and integration services
A good understanding of software engineering fundamentals: clean code, design patterns, testing, code reviews, and version control (Git)
Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and SQL
A basic understanding of DevOps, including CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code, and monitoring
Experience building and deploying applications on a cloud platform such as AWS or GCP
A good understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile development techniques
A flexible mindset and a strong desire to grow your skills beyond a single platform
Strong analytical and business problem-solving skills
Effective interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills

Nice to have

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform will be an added advantage
Hands-on experience with AI-powered code generation tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
Familiarity with document and image processing pipelines, including OCR, data extraction, and AI-driven metadata generation, will be an added advantage
Exposure to OpenText Extended ECM (xECM), Archive Center, or OpenText Cloud offerings will be an added advantage
