Senior Software Engineer, New Verticals
About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer, New Verticals at qlub, you will lead the development of AI-driven payment solutions for salons, focusing on designing, specifying, and verifying secure and reliable payment services. The role involves orchestrating AI agents to build, test, and deploy software, integrating with third-party platforms, and ensuring robust system design and observability. You will collaborate closely with product, operations, and external partners to deliver frictionless payment experiences and drive growth in the beauty and wellness sector. Must have
- Proven experience shipping production-grade software, with a track record of doing it through AI coding agents
- Fluency in English is a must
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows in production
- Strong grasp of system design: REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing and distributed systems
- Solid knowledge of databases, data modelling and database design
- Experience with payment providers, booking or POS systems, or complex third-party integrations
- A clear understanding of AI-system risks: hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage, non-deterministic behaviour and unsafe tool execution, and how to contain them
- Experience with automated testing, evals, observability, debugging and performance optimisation
Nice to have
- Experience in payments, fintech, beauty and wellness tech, booking platforms or a high-growth marketplace
- Experience with payment gateways, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, or chargeback systems
- Experience building agents that operate on APIs, databases, internal tools or operational workflows
- Familiarity with model evaluation, prompt and context management, AI observability, guardrails or LLM cost optimisation
- Experience running multiple coding agents in parallel, or building the tooling and CI that keeps them safe
- Exposure to vector databases, embeddings, semantic search or retrieval systems
- Experience with cloud platforms, containerised services, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR and secure development practices
