Systems Engineer
About the role
Payable (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure & Systems team, focusing on maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing infrastructure for their fintech and payment platforms. The role involves managing Linux/RHEL servers, deploying and managing applications with Apache, Tomcat, and Java, supporting AWS and Google Cloud infrastructure, handling server deployments and migrations, troubleshooting network and server issues, and maintaining databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. The position also includes responsibilities for OS patching, server hardening, vulnerability remediation, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/RHEL administration.
- Experience with Apache, Tomcat, and Java application hosting.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of networking, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP is preferred.
- Knowledge of VMware, Nagios/monitoring tools, Bash/Python scripting, WAF, or security technologies will be an added advantage.
