Server Support Engineer
About the role
Cyrus Information Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. is hiring a Server Support Engineer to join their infrastructure engineering team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise server hardware, troubleshooting hardware issues, performing upgrades, and supporting data center operations. The position requires hands-on experience with platforms such as Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, and Lenovo ThinkSystem servers, as well as the ability to work independently and handle urgent infrastructure incidents. The engineer will also provide on-site technical support and collaborate with other IT teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
Must have
- 2+ years of experience in server hardware support.
- Experience with Dell / HP enterprise servers, storage
- Good knowledge of server components, RAID, storage, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience troubleshooting server hardware failures and component replacement.
- Knowledge of data center practices, rack installation, and structured cabling.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, VLAN, Ethernet).
- Experience working with Windows Server and Linux environments is an advantages
