Automation Engineer (Aus Shift/ Aus Calendar)
About the role
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and building workflow automations to streamline operational and business processes, developing and maintaining system integrations via APIs, and building Azure-based cloud infrastructure to support automation solutions. The role involves scripting, applying version control and CI/CD practices, contributing to technical design initiatives, leveraging AI tools for automation, and supporting monitoring and quality assurance across workflows. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and automate manual or error-prone processes, aiming to improve efficiency and reliability within the technology environment.
Must have
- Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in automation engineering, workflow automation, system integration, process improvement, or a similar role.
- Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform, with the ability to operate and troubleshoot cloud-hosted services.
- Hands-on experience in building workflow automations using platforms such as Workato, Microsoft Power Platform, or similar automation tools.
- Solid understanding of APIs and system integration patterns.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C# to develop and extend automation solutions.
- Practical experience with version control tools such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted tools and the ability to apply them to support automation development and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience contributing to technical design, solution design, or automation-related projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a process-improvement mindset, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Nice to have
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, quality assurance, testing practices, or operational systems will be an added advantage.
