Senior Cybersecurity Consultant
About the role
HLB Lanka Business Advisory is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to join their Cybersecurity and IT GRC team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The role involves delivering cybersecurity consulting engagements, readiness assessments, and risk analyses for Australian clients, aligned with standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, NIST, COBIT, and the ACSC Essential Eight. Responsibilities include assessing client environments, recommending remediation plans, supporting IT GRC initiatives, delivering training, preparing reports, and mentoring junior team members. Must have
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline
- CISSP, CISM, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, IT audit, or IT risk
- Previous audit and consulting experience, with the ability to assess controls, identify gaps, and provide practical recommendations
- Working knowledge of the ACSC Essential Eight and its maturity model, with experience assessing or implementing it
- Proven client handling experience, including managing stakeholders and leading client meetings
- Experience delivering training and awareness sessions on cybersecurity
- Experience working with overseas clients, preferably Australian or other international clients
- Ability to work the 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM shift to align with Australian business hours
- Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while escalating significant risks or complex issues appropriately
