Associate Software Engineer
About the role
Veracity Digital is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join their AI-native technology and engineering team. The role involves building features for enterprise web applications, working under the guidance of senior engineers, and implementing both frontend (React 19/TypeScript) and backend (API, PostgreSQL) components depending on your strengths. Responsibilities include writing well-structured, testable code, participating in code reviews, delivering features to production, writing tests for CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting, and maintaining documentation. Candidates should have a BSc in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience), around 2-3 years of professional development experience, and a shipped application used by real users. The company focuses on delivering scalable, production-ready AI solutions for global clients.
Must have
- BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- About 2 to 3 years of professional development experience, including at least one application shipped to production and used by real users.
- Solid React + TypeScript, or solid API development with PostgreSQL. Either path is fine.
- Working knowledge of Git, pull-request workflows, automated tests (e.g., Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, or backend test frameworks) and Docker basics.
- Comfort consuming or implementing typed API/JSON contracts and handling loading, error and empty states properly.
- Ability to implement against designs and specs without inventing architecture.
- Use of AI-guided environments and agentic development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) while checking the correctness and security of AI-generated code.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving mindset with the ability to take ownership of features while remaining a collaborative team player.
- Takes code review feedback well and raises issues with a design or spec early rather than improvising.
Nice to have
- Complex forms or multi-step workflows, schema-driven (JSON Schema) form rendering, React 19 features, accessibility (WCAG), autosave or offline-tolerant drafts, and exposure to SSOprotected apps and role based UI.
