Unity Developer
About the role
Gameon x Daevik is seeking 3D Game Developers (Unity) on a contract basis to help build a mobile free-to-play 3D city builder inspired by Indian temple culture. The role involves developing core gameplay features and systems in Unity using C#, implementing UI, integrating 3D assets, optimizing performance for low-end devices, and supporting QA for Android and iOS releases. Candidates should have experience with Unity and C#, mobile game development, optimization, and version control. The position offers the chance to work on an original game with a unique cultural theme, flexible contract terms, and potential for extension based on performance.
Must have
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Unity and C#
- Strong understanding of 3D game development: scenes, cameras, lighting, physics and animation systems
- Experience building and publishing mobile games on Android and/or iOS
- Solid knowledge of mobile optimisation: draw calls, batching, LODs, texture compression and memory profiling
- Experience with Unity’s UI systems and responsive layouts for different screen sizes
- Good grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns and clean architecture
- Familiarity with version control (Git, Plastic SCM or similar)
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate clearly with the team
- Availability to start soon and commit to the full contract period
Nice to have
- Experience shipping a free-to-play mobile game, especially city builders or simulation games
- Knowledge of Addressables, asset bundles or live content updates
- Experience with backend services (PlayFab, Firebase, Nakama or similar)
- Experience writing custom Unity editor tools
- Previous experience working as a contractor or freelancer on game projects
