AI / Data Engineering Intern
About the role
Entrova Consulting Pvt Ltd, an AI company based in Colombo, is seeking an AI / Data Engineering Intern to support the development of an enterprise AI intelligence platform. This hands-on internship is ideal for freshers, undergraduates, or recent graduates who are passionate about coding, experimenting with new technologies, and building practical solutions. The intern will collaborate with both business and technical teams on AI Proofs of Concept, including connecting SQL databases to AI applications, developing APIs and data connectors, testing ETL/ELT pipelines, building RAG solutions, integrating LLM APIs, and exploring machine learning applications. The role emphasizes practical problem-solving, independent work, and the ability to demonstrate built solutions.
Must have
- Fresher / undergraduate / recent graduate
- Based in Colombo or nearby
- Willing to come to our Boralasgamuwa office when required
- Must have your own laptop suitable for development
- Interest in practical AI development, not only AI theory
- Able to work independently and demonstrate what you build
- Good basic knowledge of: Python • SQL • Databases • APIs/JSON • AI/LLM concepts
Nice to have
- Exposure to RAG, LangChain/LlamaIndex, PostgreSQL, pgvector, FastAPI, GitHub, Azure, React or Machine Learning would be an advantage
