Tech Lead – AI Multi-Agent System (Contract)
About the role
This contract position is for a Tech Lead to drive the development of an enterprise-grade AI Multi-Agent System, reporting directly to leadership. The role is hands-on and involves leading the technical execution of a full-stack AI platform, including system architecture, engineering best practices, and team mentorship. The platform uses a modern Python backend and React frontend, with a focus on AI agent orchestration, real-time monitoring, and advanced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in AI/LLM engineering, backend development, and cloud infrastructure, and will be responsible for both technical leadership and direct engineering contributions.
Must have
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, 2+ years in a tech lead or senior engineering role
- Deep hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith in production
- Proficiency in Python and FastAPI for building AI-powered APIs
- Strong understanding of RAG pipelines, vector databases, embeddings, and LLM tool-calling patterns
- Familiarity with DSPy for programmatic prompt optimization and LLM pipeline compilation
- Strong AWS knowledge — comfortable architecting and deploying on services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, Bedrock, and SageMaker
