Assistant General Manager – IT Sales
About the role
The Assistant General Manager – IT Sales will lead the overall sales strategy, revenue growth, and market presence for the enterprise IT solutions portfolio of a leading Sri Lankan engineering and technology conglomerate. This senior commercial leadership role involves acquiring new corporate and government accounts, managing and mentoring a high-performing IT sales team, and driving profitability across IT products, systems integration, and managed services. The role requires formulating and executing sales strategies, overseeing business development, managing solution portfolio sales, and maintaining strong relationships with C-level executives and global technology partners. The company offers an executive leadership environment within a diversified, multi-billion-rupee enterprise with a century of industrial leadership.
Must have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance / Management Accounting.
- Minimum 10 to 12 years of progressive experience in enterprise IT sales, business development, or solution selling, with at least 4 to 5 years in a senior managerial or team leadership role.
- Deep expertise in enterprise IT architecture, including cloud solutions (AWS/Azure), networking (Cisco), cybersecurity (Fortinet), infrastructure (Dell/HPE), virtualization (VMware), and software licensing (Microsoft).
- Proven track record in managing government/corporate tender processes, complex multi-stakeholder negotiations, margin management, and contract risk evaluation.
- Established connections with enterprise customer networks and global IT vendor ecosystems.
