Software Tech Lead - AI Solution
About the role
The Software Tech Lead – AI Solutions will lead the architecture, design, and integration of scalable AI solutions across enterprise banking systems. The role involves designing secure API layers, integrating AI and machine learning models, translating business requirements into technical architectures, and serving as a communication bridge between engineering, business, and external vendors. The position requires managing project timelines, reviewing vendor solutions, ensuring security and performance standards, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. The company operates in the banking technology and IT solutions sector, with the role based onsite in Colombo 03. Applications are accepted via email or an easy apply link.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, system integration, or a related technical role.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in AI engineering or AI solution integration.
- Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Senior AI Engineer, Integration Lead, or a similar role.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications, legacy systems, and IT modernization initiatives.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Excellent technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple technical priorities and delivery deadlines.
- Strong professional judgment with the ability to challenge unsafe, unrealistic, or unsuitable technical requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively within structured enterprise and IT environments.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and API gateways such as Apigee or Kong.
- Experience with message brokers such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with Cloud Run, containerized applications, and scalable cloud deployment models.
- Understanding of AI and machine learning model consumption in production environments.
- Knowledge of AI integration patterns, model APIs, latency management, monitoring, and failover design.
- Good understanding of database systems and enterprise data integration.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and event-driven software architectures.
Nice to have
- Exposure to enterprise banking, financial services, or regulated technology environments will be a strong advantage.
