Data QA Lead
About the role
The Data QA Lead role is responsible for leading quality assurance activities across data projects, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data throughout its lifecycle. The position involves creating, executing, and maintaining test cases and plans, performing both manual and automation testing, validating data across systems, and testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses. The Data QA Lead will also identify defects, perform root cause analysis, support issue resolution, and collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders. The role emphasizes driving test automation and continuous quality improvements within the team.
Must have
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Testing
- Strong experience in Manual and Automation Testing
- Experience in test case and test plan creation and execution
- Strong knowledge of defect management and QA best practices
- Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses
- Strong SQL and data validation skills
- Hands-on exposure to one or more of the following: Snowflake, Azure Data Services, Apache Spark, Power BI, ETL/ELT tools
- Experience working with data engineering teams and data projects
Nice to have
- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications
