About the role
The Senior Data Support Engineer will join the Global Data Operations team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This role is responsible for leading complex troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis across enterprise data platforms. The engineer will monitor and support data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, integrations, and data warehouse operations, as well as perform SQL query tuning and warehouse performance optimization. The position also involves ensuring data security and compliance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have strong technical expertise in SQL, data warehousing, and related technologies, along with experience in production support and technical leadership.
Must have
- Strong expertise in SQL and performance tuning.
- Experience with ETL/ELT, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Data Modelling.
- Exposure to Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Astronomer (Airflow), and Automic Automation.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL processes and production support operations.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Support Operations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing production incidents and providing technical leadership.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
