About the role
The Quality Engineering Lead will be responsible for defining and driving the overall Quality Engineering strategy to ensure alignment with business and technology objectives. The role involves leading test planning, quality reviews, risk assessments, and release readiness activities across multiple projects and teams. Key responsibilities include designing comprehensive test strategies, establishing automation-first testing practices, driving adoption of AI-assisted testing, monitoring key quality metrics, and collaborating with various stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The position also involves mentoring a team of Quality Engineers and partnering with delivery teams for process improvements.
Must have
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
- 6-7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 2+ years in a QE Lead, Associate Lead, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience defining and executing enterprise-scale test strategies for data platforms, integrations, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with test automation frameworks and automation-first delivery models.
- Experience in Data Quality Testing, ETL Testing, Data Migration Testing, Database Testing, and Data Validation frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing automation solutions using Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, Maven, SonarQube, and related platforms.
- Experience in performance engineering and performance testing tools.
- Strong knowledge of software testing processes, practices and test design techniques.
- A solid practical understanding of Agile Software Testing and Software Engineering concepts.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thirst for learning and regularly updating knowledge.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as ISTQB, PMI-ACP or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) would be an added advantage.
