Associate, Cloud Engineer (Intern)
About the role
Pearson is seeking a Cloud Engineer Intern to join their technology team, focusing on cloud computing, AWS, automation, DevOps, and modern cloud-native technologies. The intern will assist in designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, support CI/CD pipeline development, and contribute to infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code. The role also involves developing automation scripts in Python, analyzing data for insights, and documenting technical work. Candidates should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in a relevant field, possess strong Python programming skills, and have a basic understanding of Generative AI and LLMs. This internship offers hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, DevOps, and mentorship from experienced engineers.
Must have
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Basic understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, application deployment, and pipeline issues
- Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or other CI/CD tools
- Basic knowledge of Docker and container technologies
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as VPC, DNS, load balancers, and security groups
- Familiarity with APIs, backend development, or data pipelines
- Interest in education technology or assessment systems
